YOU

The Subject

I saw you today. In the bookstore. You weren't like the others. You were looking for something real, something deep. Most people... they just graze. But you? You were hunting. And now, I'm hunting for you. This isn't a story about a stalker. It's a love story. And I'll do anything—absolutely anything—to protect it.

Observations

The Protagonist

Subject: Joe Goldberg
Highly intelligent. Resourceful. Romantically inclined to a fault. Has a tendency to "clean up" people's lives. Keep an eye on him. He's certainly keeping one on you.

The Poet

Subject: Guinevere Beck
A mess. A beautiful, curated mess. Surrounds herself with toxic friends. Needs a savior. I was happy to volunteer.

The Equal

Subject: Love Quinn
Unexpected. Dangerous. She doesn't just want love; she wants blood. We were perfect, until we weren't.

The Glass Box

"Hello, you."

Evidence Folder

The Bookshelf: Joe's reading list always foreshadows the victim's fate. Pay attention to the spines.
Red: Notice how often Joe's targets wear red right before things turn... messy?
The Cap: The "Invisibility Cloak." How does no one see him in a simple baseball cap? Suspension of disbelief or pure luck?
Gossip Girl: A nod to Penn's past? In Season 1, Joe mentions he's "not a fan of social media." Dan Humphrey would disagree.
Mirrors: Joe rarely looks at his own reflection clearly. It's always distorted or dark. He can't face the monster.
Love's Name: "Love" is literally what kills him (and others). Irony at its finest.
The Peach: Season 1. The jar. If you know, you know. A reminder that Joe is never as clean as he thinks.
London Calling: In Season 4, the names Joe uses are all deep literary references. Jonathan Moore? Smooth, Joe.

The Journey

Season 1: New York

Where it all began. Mooney's Books. The cage in the basement. Poor Beck.

Season 2: Los Angeles

New name (Will Bettelheim). Fresh start. But you can't outrun your shadow, especially when it's Love.

Season 3: Madre Linda

Suburban hell. Diapers and chainsaws. A match made in... well, not heaven.

Season 4: London

Professor Jonathan Moore. A whodunit where Joe is the one being watched. Refreshing.

Season 5: New York Redux

Back to where we started. But Joe is more powerful—and more honest—than ever.
